Old Town Puerto
Vallarta is historic and charming. Its famous for
the River Cuale and Gringo Gulch. The south side (also called
the Romantic Zone or Viejo Vallarta) is steps away from
world-class restaurants, bars, quaint shops, art galleries,
the flea market and beaches. The Malecon Boardwalk
should not be missed. The Plaza is also delightful
and Los Muertos Beach (whose sand, surf and palapas stretch
for over a mile south of the Cuale River) is only a 15-minute
walk from almost anywhere. Old town is a beautiful place
for strolling along with its classical Spanish architecture,
whitewashed buildings and cobblestone streets. Wonderful
food, sunsets, and warm ocean breezes make evenings unforgettable.
